1981 Rickenbacker International 620/12

By the mid-1970s, the Rickenbacker sound seemed like ancient history – but then New Wave arrived, as did a radio-ready band called Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Suddenly, the “jangle” was back and Ricks were cool again.

As evidence, here’s a handsome Model 620/12, a Rickenbacker fusing the feedback resistance of a solidbody with the chime of an electric 12-string. Even better, this ’81 is finished in the alluring, black Rick color known as JetGlo.

This 1957 Martin 000-18 (serial number 153879) features a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides with a rosewood fingerboard.

Cosmetically, it shows the kind of honest wear you expect in a 65+ year-old Martin: lacquer checking, small dings, and a handsome amber patina on the top. It ships in a non-original hardshell case.
