2013 Gibson Custom Shop Collectors Choice #8 "The Beast" 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue

If a 1959 Les Paul Standard represents the pinnacle of solidbody collecting, then the Gibson owned by the late Bernie Marsden of Whitesnake – dubbed “The Beast” – stands among the very best. The original Beast, likely worth over $1 million, still resides with the Marsden family, but Gibson’s Collectors Choice #8 is a 2013 reissue of Marsden’s fabled ’59 Les Paul, meticulously crafted by the Gibson Custom Shop. It’s a spectacular ’burst – and as close to The Beast as any of us will ever get.
